Actress [Character: ANNIE] – Anna
I chose to include my friend Anna in my horror film because she’s a drama student and her personality fits the role of ‘Annie’ quite perfectly.
The character "Annie" was semi-inspired by Anna and other films I watched before creating my own plan for the film. Annie is supposed to be an introvert who likes writing and at the beginning of the film, is seen to be writing her own horror story. Anna also enjoys writing in her free time and is an epitome of an introvert so in a way, this role suits her as well.
Also, since I have filmed with Anna before on one occasion on a previous project, I know she’ll look good on camera, can act well and professionally for the sort of film I want.
And finally, it’s not really necessary but she’s extremely pale and has dark hair so it’s a given she’ll fit the “horror” image well. Creates a nice contrast between pale and dark.
insomnia
Costume design - Long beige cardigan, white top and neutral (not brightly) coloured long pants.
Overall a very muted palette, emphasizing the fact that ANNIE is a regular girl -basically an extremely normal introvert. Will create a sense of relatability with the audience to make the whole situation seem more normal and likely to happen. Therefore, evoking more sympathetic -or at least- empathetic emotions from the audience which will immerse them more in the film.
Long cardigan also creates a nice fluid motion when running and filmed from behind.
Long pants -just to show that these are her pyjamas, again, further showing how 'normal' she is.
